“I never expected to get hurt at my age. I’m 34. When I got hurt at work I was referred to FSO and met with Dr. Z and Dr. Childers. I was afraid of what would happen to me.. if I’d be able to dance, if I’d be able to type with both hands, if I’d be able to even carry a basket of laundry ever again.
After many trials and diagnostic processes, we finally decided on a complete disc replacement. Was I scared? Of course! But after 18 months of suffering, and dealing with insurance and workman’s compensation, I was ready to do anything.
It’s funny, because now I AM able to do anything (within reason.) It’s been three months since my disc replacement and I feel like I finally have my life back. I am able to do chores as usual and take care of myself regularly without pain. There is now a small joy in doing dishes, because it doesn’t hurt! The surgery was done before I knew it and the pain was gone the very same day.
The joy of being able to live life again has given me so much, and I wouldn’t have that if it weren’t for the professional and gentle care of Dr. Z and Dr. Childers. I feel safe in their hands. They are miracle workers.”
